Requirements

Digital Forensics Framework is a cross-platform project and should run on most Unix, Linux and Windows Operating System. DFF is packaged for the following operating systems:

  • Debian
  • RedHat
  • Windows

Concerning Debian and RedHat, it also includes distribution respectively based on them.

DFF should run on the following operating systems by compiling from sources but tests have not been conducted yet. If you use one the following operating systems, we will enjoy your feedbacks and bug reports.

  • OpenBSD
  • NetBSD
  • FreeBSD
  • Mac OS X

At the moment, DFF runs on 32 bits architecture but tests have started on 64 bits too. Do not hesitate to report your experiences too.

DFF uses several open source softwares and libraries the following packages are required:

  • Python (>= 2.5)
  • PyQt (>= 4.4.0)
  • Python QScintilla (>= 2.0)
